Lime

Lime is a construction material known since many centuries ago. Lime mortar is one of the water mortars that old Egyptians and Greeks mixed it with volcanic ash, brick soil and water to produce a type of water lime with noticeable hardening and pressing properties.

Using this mortar, the Romans constructed great buildings. Mortar was used also in ancient Iran especially northern Persian Gulf due to its interesting hydraulic properties and high compressive strength. It is still used in some harbors such as Bandar-Lengeh and Bushehr for construction of facilities.

Along with advancement of science and technology, the need for minerals such as calcium carbonate powder is increased in different industries. According to global statistics, more than two million MT of micronized powders are produced and used
